Carmen’s evocative tattoos encompass a variety of styles — including elements of fine line, neotraditional, ornamental, geometric, and illustrative, in color or black and grey.

Her versatility stems from over a decade of tattooing in New York City after getting her Master in Fine Arts degree.

Carmen focuses on custom designs, tailored to you, ensuring a unique piece of body art. Her compositions prioritize balance, and complementing your anatomy’s natural flow.

Carmen’s work is infused with an underlying mysticism that speaks to her love of fantastic, surreal, dark beautiful and romantic imagery.

ARTIST POLICIES / FAQ

General

Carmen tattoos out of Atelier Eva in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Carmen typically books 1-3 months out. That said, you can always reach out as sometimes there are cancellations or earlier availabilities.
When submitting a booking request please give all of the information, if all information is not given we cannot make a proper evaluation for booking and may not be able to make an appointment. If you cannot get the booking form to work, please DM on Instagram with all of the information from the booking form.
Due to a high email volume, please allow up to a week for the first reply.
If you do not hear from us after a week, please feel free to circle back with us to make sure we got your booking form.
To book an appointment, a deposit is required; all deposits are non refundable and go towards the final payment. Your time slot is not confirmed until you place a deposit.
Please arrive on time to your appointment. If you are running late please call Vestige Tattoo Studio at (347)916-1616 (address: 574 Metropolitan Ave. Brooklyn, NY 11211) to notify Carmen. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late without notice, you will be considered a no call/no show and your deposit will be voided.
Clients must be 18 years of age or older, and must not be pregnant or breastfeeding.

Cancellation/Rescheduling

If you wish to reschedule an appointment please contact Carmen at least 72 hours in advance.
If you cancel without rescheduling, give less than 72 hours notice, or do not show up for your appointment, the deposit is nullified.
If a deposit is nullified and you wish to make a new appointment, a new deposit is required. Carmen reschedules appointments at her own discretion.

Cost/Estimates

Carmen’s minimum is $300 and goes up from there based on the size, placement and detail.
Large scale work is done in multiple sessions and is charged by the hour at the rate of $300-400/hr. Daily rate is $1750-2000.
If you have a specific budget, please let her know when filling out the form.
Estimates for work that can be done in one session will be based on the design intricacy, size, and body placement and are sent over email. Estimates for large scale work are done during an in-person consultation.

Guests

We kindly request that you attend your appointment independently. Due to sanitary and liability concerns, only the client is allowed within the tattooing area.
On a discretionary basis, guests of clients may wait in our lounge and seating areas during the session.

Before the Appointment

24 hours prior to the tattoo please do not drink alcohol
Make sure you are well rested, eat and stay hydrated prior to your appointment.
If you have body hair in the area in which you are to be tattooed, please do not shave the area before your appointment

Aftercare

If you:

receive a clear second skin tattoo bandage, leave bandage on for 5-7 days
receive a traditional bandage, please leave on for 2-3 hours or until you are in a clean environment. Remove bandage and wash tattoo with warm water and antibacterial soap (dial is great!) Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Apply a thin layer of aquaphor to the tattoo 2-3 times a day for three days (as needed if the area is dry)

To maintain the longevity and health of your tattoo, please continue moisturizing the area with unscented body lotion (i.e. Aveeno).
Do not pick or peel scabs, as it may cause the tattoo to fall out/lose ink.

Disclaimers

NO soaking, sauna, bathing, swimming or prolonged exposure to water for 2-3 weeks after your tattoo. Long-term exposure to the sun can cause fading. Please refrain from exposing the tattoo to the sun for the first 2 weeks.
Proper aftercare recommendations should be followed in order to ensure the tattoo heals properly, however tattoos in high-motion areas are prone to fading and may require a touch up.
Keep in mind the tattoo is an open wound until it heals and needs to be treated as such to avoid infection.

Touch ups

The first touch up is free within 6 months after the initial appointment.
To schedule a touch up, email back on the same email chain that you booked the appointment with and include a picture of the tattoo in its current condition.
Carmen loves pictures of healed tattoos. Please email photos of your healed tattoo a month after they’re done.
